Departing from Cairns, you head north to Samarai Island. A green speck anchored at the south-eastern tip of New Guinea, at the heart of the strait joining the Solomon and Coral Seas, the island offers an unexpected interlude of idyllic landscapes and exceptional heritage. You will then sail to Alotau, in Milne Bay Province, Papua New Guinea, and discover a rich history shaped by pearl farmers, miners and missionaries. You will then reach the two active volcanic islands of Fergusson and Dobu. With your expedition team, you will hike to the DeiDei geothermal hot springs through spectacular forests. Your stop at Tufi, in the south of the island, will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of your stay. Let yourself be charmed by this picturesque region, nicknamed “the Scandinavia of the tropics” because of its fjords formed by volcanic activity. A unique and unspoiled setting, home to Papuan tribes proud to share their culture and art with you. At the heart of the Solomon Sea, you will discover the splendid turquoise waters and white sand beaches of the uninhabited islands of the Lusançay Archipelago. These idyllic coral islets offer superb moments of swimming and snorkelling amid fabulous seabeds. You will also discover the traditional exchange system of Kiriwina Island, the “Kula”, as well as village life. In the Solomon Islands, you can admire the work of carvers from Ghizo and Njari Islands, recognised as among the most talented in the world. You can also enjoy fine snorkelling, diving and visits to local traditional markets. You will then explore the wonderful scenery of Roderick Bay, between white sand beaches and fringing coral reefs. Then you will reach Malaita Province, known for its local traditions and unique rites as well as its music and sacred dances, accompanied by panpipes. Your expedition will end in Honiara, the capital of the Solomon Islands."}
