Scuba diving opens the door to an entirely new world, little-known if not entirely unknown: a world where the body discovers the pleasure of weightlessness, the possibility of moving through three dimensions, landscapes unlike those found on land, at times extraordinary, myriad fish in colours so varied and vivid they sometimes look artificial, with shapes that can be just as surprising\u2026.<\/p>\n

Contrary to appearances, scuba diving is accessible to everyone \u2014 it\u2019s a leisure activity, not a sport, and it\u2019s easy and safe once you\u2019ve completed a short course.<\/p>\n

We recommend choosing an instructor or club affiliated with PADI, the world leader in recreational diving, present in more than 170 countries, to complete the course that leads to the first certification level, known as OPEN WATER. This takes around 4 days, with training geared toward safe, enjoyable diving.<\/p>\n

Two options are open to you: complete a course before leaving by finding a club or instructor near home, or take advantage of a holiday in the tropics to discover scuba diving in ideal conditions \u2014 a warm, clear sea and remarkable dives from the very start, so striking that any initial apprehension disappears from your first underwater breaths\u2026<\/p>\n
