The Lofoten Islands have this particularity: they combine the gentleness of islands with the force of mountains plunging straight into the fjords, sometimes with nearly 1,000 metres of elevation drop over a few hundred metres. Impressive. It’s often said that in the Lofoten Islands, these are the “Alps falling into the sea”.

When mist settles in, the full magic and mystery of Scandinavia takes over. Trolls are never far away in the Lofoten Islands!

In every seaside village, the emblematic wooden houses painted red overlook rocky cliffs, standing in sharp contrast to the peaceful immensity of Norway’s fjords.

At this time, vegetation gradually reclaims the land and blooms once more, enhancing the fjords’ striking panoramas.
