The Khwai Community Reserve, managed by the Khwai Development Trust Community and spanning 1,800 km², is crossed by the Khwai River — a true wildlife magnet, being the only source of water for miles around. The reserve is managed by the 400 Bushmen of Khwai village, who are committed to ecotourism and to conserving Botswana's wildlife and flora, giving this place a distinctive character.
