Layout

Guesthouse Hofsstaðir offers 20 rooms: 16 spacious deluxe rooms (double/twin/triple/quadruple) and 4 standard rooms (double/twin).
It also has a licensed bar-restaurant serving traditional Icelandic dishes with an emphasis on fresh local ingredients.

Rooms

Rooms are equipped with free Wi-Fi, television, tea/coffee tray, as well as a private veranda with two chairs and a table.

Activities offered

Numerous activities are available in the region:
Long or short walks and mountain hikes, geothermal pools in Sauðárkrókur (18 km) and Hofsós (26 km), a 9-hole golf course in the town of Sauðárkrókur, and boat excursions to Drangey, an island of steep cliffs, birds and legends. Horse rental and rafting are available nearby, as is the heritage museum. 
Excursions include a climb up the cliffs to the summit (departing in summer from Reykir farm on the coast, just north of Sauðárkrókur).
Drangey is also in full view from Hofsstaðir, and a ski area opens in winter near Sauðárkrókur (18 km).
Shops and all the usual services can be found in Sauðárkrókur.
