A scenic flight over Askja, Iceland's largest caldera.
Departure from Mývatn heading south, with views over the Ódáðahraun lava field. Arrival over Askja, a highland volcano standing 1,510m tall. Seen from above, you'll gain a deeper understanding of its geology and how it has shaped the landscape.
On the way back, fly over Mount Herðubreið, “the broad-shouldered”, often regarded as the queen of Icelandic mountains. Return to Mývatn after flying over Hverfjall, the Námafjall geothermal area, and the Krafla lava field.
