Inaccessible during the wet season and reachable only by 4x4 the rest of the year, the Kimberley is one of the last frontiers, one of the wildest places left on earth.
Nature rules here: red dirt roads contrast with blue sky, and the urge to swim is satisfied by waterholes tucked into gorges or at the foot of waterfalls.
If you’re so inclined, take time out at one of the Outback’s many cattle stations.
Despite its remoteness, the Kimberley region offers recognised cuisine, luxury accommodation, engaging locals, and some of the most romantic coastal towns in the world.
