From the village of Guatin, a hike at 3,100 metres above sea level along the Puritama canyon will take you to the hot springs of the same name. Diversity is the word that best describes this walk. It begins by following the Bizama river, along the inside of the canyon. There, the surprise begins: a profusion of candelabra cacti, varied geological formations, small waterfalls, streams and rocks — the place has a particular appeal.
At the end of the trail, the hot springs offer a chance to relax and enjoy a bath in the middle of the desert. The constant flow of this thermal spring sits at 25° to 30°C and has natural curative properties. Set in a mountainous canyon, these open-air pools are hard to forget.
