À vivre

At over 4,200 metres above sea level lies the Altiplano (“the high plain”), the highest inhabited region in the world after Tibet, dotted with numerous lagoons.
Ringed by volcanoes of the Andes, the Miscanti and Miñiques lagoons attract a range of birds, including Chilean flamingos, which come here to feed. These birds in fact gave their name to the Los Flamencos National Reserve, which protects the lagoons. At the Cejar Lagoon, you can even take a dip.
The contrast of colours — deep blue, turquoise, ochre and white — is among the surprises awaiting you here.
