Amazonie Tambopata
32 comfortable, rustic rooms open to nature
The programme includes exploring the Tambopata Reserve with a local English/Spanish-speaking guide: a canoe or catamaran trip around Lake Tambopata to explore aquatic wildlife, including caimans and giant otters. A visit to a neighbouring farm and an ethnobotanical tour. Discovery of local flora and traditional medicine. A dawn visit to the Macaw Clay Lick, a 20-minute walk from the Amazonas refuge — this early hour is when macaws are most active, giving better chances of sightings. A visit to a mammal clay lick where peccaries (a wild pig species) can be observed. A walking exploration through a Brazil nut reserve, ending at the observation platform atop the 25 m-high tower.
