Departure very early in the morning along the scenic road following the Colca River to the Mirador de la Cruz del Cóndor.
You overlook the canyon, one of the deepest in the world, all the way to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint (39 km), from where you can truly grasp its depth (1,200m). The highlight is watching the condors wait for the air to warm before gliding on the rising thermals! From the sky, they spot their prey! The wingspan of these birds is striking!
About a 30-minute drive to Cabanaconde, with a stop for lunch.
Then return toward Yanque (around 2 hours' drive), passing through the village of Pinchollo, the most picturesque in the Colca Valley, located 7 kilometers from the Cruz del Cóndor, the Antahuilque viewpoints, another observation point offering views over the pre-Inca terraced fields that stretch down to the river winding below, and the traditional villages of Maca (3,262m) and Achoma (3,450m).
Return road to Chivay.
