The lodge’s striking main building offers spectacular views over the remarkably blue waters of Lake Naknek. Its large circular fireplace is ideal for warm, relaxed evenings spent sharing the day’s stories. Hearty meals made with local produce are served buffet-style three times a day in the lodge’s dining room. Cocktails are available at the lodge bar every afternoon and evening.
Children over 7 are welcome.
The accommodation is made up of sixteen modern rooms, all with modern private facilities. All rooms have the same interior layout with 2 sets of bunk beds accommodating up to 4 people.
The famous Brooks Falls are just a short walk from the Lodge. At the height of the salmon season, up to fifty bears live along the 1.5 km stretch of the Brooks River. Many visitors spot bears within minutes of arriving, and park rangers will brief you on how to behave safely in bear country.
Bear watching at Brooks Falls depends on the annual salmon runs, with July and September being the most reliable observation periods. Bears may or may not remain in the area for the rest of the summer. Bear sightings are not guaranteed. There can be long waits at the viewing platforms, particularly in July.
