Jericoacoara is the new haunt of choice for European hipsters. Far more than a hippie beach village, Jericoacoara has grown to include charming pousadas, fine dining restaurants, sushi bars and other delightful ventures, with sounds from far and wide, all while keeping its identity intact. There are few vehicles here: only those of local residents are permitted, others must be parked at the entrance to town. In the centre, cats and dogs roam freely, along with a donkey that wanders between the café terraces. The central lanes are lined with brightly coloured little houses.
