Antelope Canyon is one of the most famous and most photographed gorges in the western United States. The sunlight filtering through it creates striking effects of colour and shadow. Owned by the Navajo Nation, which protects it closely, Antelope Canyon is a place of surreal beauty and unmatched character. Antelope Canyon takes the form of a fissure in the rock — what is known as a slot canyon.
There are two slot canyons on this land: Upper Antelope (to the south), easily accessible and suitable for all visitors, and Lower Antelope, which is somewhat more demanding.
