Banff
The lodge offers 108 rooms and includes a lounge with a fireplace as well as a restaurant serving modern cuisine and another, open seasonally, with a patio overlooking the mountains. It also has an outdoor hot tub, best enjoyed after a hike, an invigorating day of skiing on one of the nearby trails, or perhaps to aid digestion after a lavish meal at the lodge's highly acclaimed restaurant.
The understated rooms (most with balcony or patio) are equipped with a fireplace, Wi-Fi access, a flat-screen television and a coffee maker. Superior rooms have a clawfoot bathtub. Suites also include a living room and a kitchenette.
A favourite pastime of visitors is watching the deer and elk that frequently graze on the lawn, right outside the lodge's windows. The tumbling creeks, the breathtaking, bracing mountains and the region's pure air make it a haven for hikers and backcountry skiers.
