With Le Commandant Charcot, Ponant envisions the journey of tomorrow. The fleet's newest ship will take you in the footsteps of the great polar explorers, in a refined setting offering luxury amenities never before available in the extreme regions of the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.

The indoor pool, the winter garden, the panoramic restaurant, the Blue Lagoon outdoor restaurant, the Grand Salon, the Observatory Lounge, the lobby ... Every communal space has been designed to convey discreet French-style luxury while inspiring wonder. The guiding principle behind these spaces: let in the light and open up views onto extraordinary polar landscapes.

This first hybrid-electric, LNG-powered polar exploration vessel was designed with the utmost attention to safety and environmental responsibility.

Layout

Le Commandant Charcot features spaces never before seen within the Ponant fleet, designed and laid out to meet every need while preserving each passenger's privacy. They were conceived by two world-renowned French architecture firms, Studio Jean-Philippe Nuel and Wilmotte & Associés, to create a genuine connection with the surrounding landscapes. Names drawn from Inuit culture, used to designate natural elements, have been given to some of these spaces as a reminder of our deep attachment to this fascinating culture.

An uninterrupted outdoor promenade deck fitted with benches heated by recovered energy. This makes it possible to walk all the way around the ship and reach the bow, unlike on most passenger vessels.

A heated indoor pool (Imaq - seawater) benefiting from superb natural light through a large glass roof.
A winter garden with large openings onto the outside.
An outdoor bar fitted with sofas and armchairs.
The Blue Lagoon, an outdoor lagoon heated to between 27 and 37°C using recovered energy.
A giant brazier (Inneq - fire) for enjoying the polar landscapes in complete comfort.

Rooms

On board, 135 suites and cabins, ranging from 20 to 115 m², each offer a warm, refined setting opening onto the outside. Each has a private balcony or terrace. The Commandant Charcot remains true to Ponant's philosophy: welcoming each passenger into a privileged atmosphere and reinforcing the sense of travelling aboard a private yacht. At the stern of decks 6 and 7 are four striking 94 m² Duplex Suites, with private terraces and a jacuzzi. On deck 8, the breathtaking 115 m² Owner's Suite has large picture windows opening onto sweeping panoramas, as well as its own 180 m² private terrace.
