Layout
Elewana Sand River pays tribute to the exclusive permanent tented camps of the late 1920s. The carefully considered interior design, attentive service, and idyllic location make this camp a prime address.
The welcome is warm and the atmosphere intimate.
The common areas are much appreciated: a large lounge set beneath a mess tent, a billiard room, a dining room, and the pool for relaxing during the warmest hours of the day…
On the restaurant side, the menu is elaborate, and meals include starter, main course, and dessert. They can be served in the dining room, or on request out in the bush (weather and wildlife permitting).
Rooms
Spacious and pleasantly furnished, the roughly fifteen luxury tents (including one family tent) comfortably accommodate travellers (four-poster bed, armchairs, trunk...). Each has a beautiful terrace facing the river and a bathroom with an outdoor shower and a bathtub. Hairdryer, bathrobes, fan and Wi-Fi complete the setup.
Activities offered
Elewana Sand River offers daily activities, such as open 4x4 safaris with experienced guides twice a day, birdwatching excursions and nature walks. A hot-air balloon flight can also be booked on request.
