Laikipia
Shaded by riverside trees and set on wooden platforms, the thirty or so canvas-and-timber tents have been designed in a warm, contemporary style.
The communal areas, built on stilts and topped with makuti-thatched roofs, house a dining room where buffet meals are served. You can dine there or, if you prefer a wilder setting, opt for lavish breakfasts and dinners out in the bush (optional).
A lounge, a bar, a refreshing pool with sun loungers, and a lovely outdoor terrace overlooking the river complete the camp.
A library is also available to guests.
Samburu Intrepids strives to uphold the highest standards of social and environmental responsibility.
The camp maintains close ties with the local Samburu community, who make up around 30% of its staff.
The property is run according to strict ecological principles, with water heated by solar power and biodegradable waste turned into compost.
Children are welcome, and the adventurers' club lets them discover the wilderness.
Set in peaceful surroundings, the spacious, recently renovated tents offer excellent comfort: four-poster bed, antique mahogany furniture, dressing room, bathroom with separate toilet and shower, a desk area and an attractive furnished terrace overlooking the river.
There's no shortage of activities here.
You'll experience life at the heart of the wilderness: 4x4 safaris, camel safaris, walking safaris, bird and star watching, visits to neighbouring Samburu communities...
