Hotel Sand is located in a comfortable spot next to the family-run Sandholt Bakery. This bakery is renowned for its artisanal bread, delectable pastries and stunning cakes, all prepared by four generations of skilled craftsmen. Sandholt's bakers combine traditional techniques with innovative ideas, filling the air with the delicious scent of their freshly made products.
Hotel Sand also shares its premises with another renowned historic neighbour: Guðsteinn Eyjólfsson's Gentlemans' Store. After studying tailoring in Copenhagen, Guðsteinn built an elegant tailor's workshop and shop here in 1929, its architecture influenced by the Jugendstil arts and crafts movement. For nearly a century, this legendary institution has continued to play a role in styling Iceland's discerning gentlemen.
