This luxurious sanctuary offers 12 spacious suites, their decor evoking the charm and style of authentic safaris of old.
There are 8 double suites and 4 very spacious family suites, each with a splendid view.
True to its promise of self-sufficiency, Gmundner Lodge runs entirely on solar power and is built in harmony with nature, using durable, locally sourced materials that extend from the structure to the interior. Local architects, designers, and builders were enlisted to bring Gmundner Lodge to life, with thoughtful nods to the landscape and heritage woven throughout the project.
Outside, a large veranda with a pool, very comfortable loungers, and a communal dining area makes an ideal place to meet, relax, and take in the view. Inside, soft leather chairs, rich mahogany furniture, and antiques round out the lodge's contemporary-meets-classic feel.
On the ground, Gmundner Lodge is proudly run by locals, whose deep and varied knowledge of Namibia brings a meaningful cultural exchange to every guest's stay.
The dining experience at Gmundner is world-class.
All ingredients used for meals come from the Gmundner farm, which is founded on sustainable farming practices and also supports the Gmundner team, their families, and the surrounding region.
Meals are served on Gmundner Keramik tableware, of the highest quality (a hallmark of the brand dating back to 1492). Guests may choose to pair their meals with fine South African wines.
Covering 205 m², the 12 suites, including 4 family suites, sit beneath a canvas roof and are furnished with plush leather armchairs, mahogany furniture, antiques and handcrafted objects.
All rooms are extremely spacious, with an open bedroom and living area leading onto a shaded private lounge with an outdoor shower and a footed bathtub. The indoor bathroom includes a shower and bathtub, a vanity unit and a separate toilet. The family suite has two separate bedrooms and two bathrooms, and can accommodate four adults or parents travelling with children.
WiFi is available in the rooms.
Gmundner Spa, run by therapist Mariane Akwenye, Namibia's first Black female pilot and a pioneer of wellness in Africa, specialises in ancient holistic therapies.
