The dozen or so chalets on stilts are directly connected to the camp’s common areas by small wooden walkways.
The large communal area houses a restaurant, a lounge and, just in front, the lodge’s inviting pool.
Meals can be taken outdoors on Ondudu Safari Lodge’s large terrace.
Ondudu Safari Lodge consists of around ten simply decorated tents.
Spacious, they feature a terrace and a private bathroom built among the rocks and trees.
The thatched-roof tents blend seamlessly into the lodge’s natural surroundings.
A walk through the granite boulders is available, with or without a guide. You can also take an excursion to “Paula's Cave” to see rock paintings (at an extra cost).
But above all, it is the lodge's excellent location that guarantees a unique activity in Namibia: birdwatching in Damaraland. Whether you're drawn to large soaring birds or tiny ones, you'll find plenty to marvel at. Many of the birds you'll see are endemic to Namibia, such as the red-billed francolin, Hartlaub's francolin, the rosy-faced lovebird, Rüppell's parrot, the violet-eared waxbill, and the majestic black eagle. They come to drink at the waterholes around the lodge, making observation easy.
