Opened in May 2024, Natural Selection's latest gem is nestled among a grove of ebony and sausage trees in the south-east of the Moremi Reserve, at the heart of the Okavango Delta. This camp was created in collaboration with, and in honour of, the paramount chief of the Batawana tribe, whose ancestors played a key role in preserving the wild spaces that would one day become Moremi.
Tawana charms with its distinctive design, featuring a vaulted entrance inspired by fishing nets and chic, elegant suites spread across three thatched-roof zones.
Not to mention the impressive lion prides that roam the surrounding plains, offering an exceptional safari experience.

Layout

The spacious main area includes an airy lounge, a bar, indoor and outdoor dining spaces, and a library dedicated to the history of Moremi and its people.
Decorated in shades of sky blue and featuring handcrafted pieces woven by local women, the camp stands out with unique touches such as a wine cellar, a wood-fired pizza oven and an intimate spa offering relaxing treatments.
Evenings draw to a close around the campfire, lulled by the calls of hippos.

Rooms

Accessible via raised walkways, the camp offers 8 suites, including 2 family suites of 130 m².
Inspired by the natural tones of the landscape and traditional Batawana patterns, they feature a separate lounge, an air-conditioned king-size bed, and a spacious bathroom with bathtub, shower and exercise equipment.
From the private terrace, the outdoor sala or the pool, enjoy an unobstructed view of the Gomoti River.

Activities offered

The surroundings of Tawana are home to one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in the Moremi Game Reserve, which you will discover on memorable safaris. Lions, leopards and wild dogs are among the many predators you may observe. The guides, often from the region, know the terrain intimately. Between safaris, cool off in the 16-metre pool while watching elephants and giraffes approach. Scenic helicopter flights are also available at an additional cost.
Please note: No water activities are offered due to the strong presence of hippos, but the spectacular wildlife sightings more than make up for it.
