Hwange
The lodge comprises several traditional thatched-roof rondavels, scattered across a wooded setting. The main building houses an open-sided lounge, a welcoming dining area, and a bar, all facing a waterhole heavily frequented by wildlife.
A small pool offers a place to cool off between safaris.
The lodge’s layout favours relaxation, wildlife watching, and a warm atmosphere.
The rooms at Sable Valley are charming thatched-roof rondavels, combining traditional Zimbabwean architecture with modern comforts. Spacious and light-filled, they feature king-size or twin beds, a private bathroom with shower, and a private deck with unobstructed views over the bush. Decorated with natural materials and locally crafted pieces, they offer a warm, authentic atmosphere. The Queen Elizabeth suite, built to commemorate the royal visit of 1991, is the only one with both a shower and a bathtub.
Day and night 4x4 safaris allow guests to observe a wide range of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, African wild dogs and over 400 bird species.
Wildlife viewing is also possible from a raised lookout or an innovative underground hide equipped with wifi, mini-bar and fireplace. The latter allows unique encounters with elephants, buffalo or sable antelope.
Expert-guided walking safaris offer an intimate approach to the bush, ideal for nature enthusiasts. Birdwatchers will appreciate the dedicated birding sessions.
The camp also offers cultural experiences, such as visits to the Painted Dog Conservation Centre and the local village of Dete, fostering exchange with local communities.
For total immersion, nights under the stars on outdoor beds are available, offering a unique experience out in the savannah.
