Valdés
In the lounge, guests will find a fine collection of books on Patagonian nature.
With just 8 rooms, Pedral has kept its original architecture and decor, and its excellent Argentine cuisine relies on produce from the estate.
You set off to discover the wildlife found along Le Pedral’s 20 km of beaches. You are in a privileged position: while visitors to the Valdés Peninsula can only glimpse the animals from a distance, here you can approach them very closely.
You’ll come across hundreds of curious little creatures with an odd gait: Magellanic penguins! The beach hosts a vast colony of these endearing flightless birds.
Your adventure continues. This time, you cross the property by 4x4 to reach the other side of Punta Ninfas, in the Punta León reserve. This area is extraordinarily rich: besides numerous bird species, this wild coastline is home to South American sea lions with their characteristic manes, as well as several colonies of elephant seals and their two tonnes of quiet strength. Depending on the season, you may even witness a rare spectacle, both cruel and spectacular: orcas approaching the shore and even stranding themselves to hunt young sea lion pups. Undoubtedly the highlight of this natural display.
