Set within a protected 30,000-hectare environment crossed by the Great Fish River, this private villa guarantees an authentic immersion far from the crowds.
Designed for families and small groups, Fort House combines contemporary architecture with a safari spirit. Clean lines, natural materials and vast open spaces let the landscape in at every turn. From the terrace, the view stretches across wild plains and a waterhole frequented by wildlife.

But the experience goes well beyond comfort. Staying at Kwandwe also means taking part in an ambitious conservation and ecological restoration project that protects the biodiversity of the Eastern Cape while supporting local communities.

Layout

Fort House is a private villa for exclusive use, accommodating up to 8 people. It is built around generous indoor and outdoor living spaces opening onto the bush.

Guests enjoy a vast lounge, a dining room, a wine cellar, an office, a pantry accessible at any time, and several lounge areas.
Outside, a large terrace, a pool overlooking the savannah and a traditional boma invite guests to watch wildlife in complete calm.
A dedicated team, including guide, tracker and house staff, provides an entirely personalised service.

For your children

Fort House welcomes children of all ages. The exclusive-use format offers great flexibility for families. Age-appropriate activities can be arranged, and a babysitting service is included for families staying in the private villas.
