Louxor
Six private villas sit within the grounds of Al Moudira: Villa Zeina, Villa Nubia, Villa Casbah, Beit Al Fananeen, Owner’s Loft and Louxor Loft.
They open onto the gardens and offer considerable independence, several of them with their own private pools.
Guests also have access to the hotel’s shared spaces and services: a large palm-lined pool, spa, gardens, library, bars and several dining venues. The Ottoman Hall, the shaded courtyard, Khan Al Moudira, the Pool Bar and the Farm Kitchen offer a range of different settings.
Beit el Nil completes the collection in Luxor, directly on the banks of the Nile.
Al Moudira welcomes young travellers with no age restriction. The main pool notably has a shallow area suited to them.
The configurations suit families as well as groups of friends.
- Villa Zeina:
Former home of Zeina Aboukheir, founder of Al Moudira, this villa was her residence for 22 years. Its five double rooms, four of which open onto the courtyard, blend hand-painted frescoes, coloured stained-glass windows, antiques and works of art from the Middle East. Outside, the private pool is tucked away in the vegetation, alongside a barbecue area and an informal dining space. A private butler oversees the stay. A house inhabited by history.
- Villa Nubia:
More contemporary in design, Villa Nubia echoes the spirit of Villa Zeina while offering generous volumes. It houses five large rooms, each with its own bathroom, along with an elegant dining room. Antique tiles, carefully selected furniture and decorative details give it the character of a patiently composed residence. In the vast, meticulously maintained garden, a spectacular marble pool invites guests to slow down.
An address particularly suited to families and groups of friends.
- Villa Casbah:
Designed to combine conviviality and independence, Villa Casbah brings together five spacious rooms conceived as self-contained units. Three stand out for their imposing domed ceilings; the other two open onto pleasant rooftop terraces. All converge on the pool and its terrace, the heart of the villa and the natural gathering place.
An ideal configuration for friends or several travellers wishing to share a single house without giving up their privacy.
- Beit Al Fananeen:
Its name means “House of the Artists,” which already tells its story. This secluded villa has hosted artists from around the world, including some of those who created Al Moudira's famous frescoes. It comprises two vast suites plus an independent room set in the large garden.
More intimate than the other villas, Beit Al Fananeen cultivates a creative and discreet atmosphere, like an artist's house hidden in the vegetation.
- Owner's Loft:
With its six rooms, the Owner's Loft is one of the most adaptable villas at Al Moudira. It can be divided into a three-bedroom apartment with a private pool, a two-bedroom duplex overlooking the garden, and a rooftop bedroom. High ceilings, original decorative pieces and antiques lend the spaces a distinctive elegance.
The highlight: a spectacular natural stone pool, which reinforces the mineral, secluded character of the place.
- Louxor Loft:
The newest of Al Moudira's villas, Louxor Loft unfolds five rooms around a spectacular double-height living room.
Antique Middle Eastern furniture, vintage objects, coloured stained-glass windows, cornices and wall paintings by a local artist make up its décor. Modular in design, the villa can become two separate residences: a two-bedroom apartment with pool and pool house, and a two-bedroom duplex with roof access, to which is added an independent rooftop suite.
- Beit el Nil:
Separate from the collection, Beit el Nil is not located within Al Moudira's gardens but on the banks of the Nile. Its twelve rooms are tucked into a vast garden that slopes down to a private riverbank, facing unspoiled countryside. Restored with reclaimed marble, Egyptian stone and polished plasterwork, the house adopts a more serene palette than Al Moudira's exuberant world. On the roof, the Winter Garden looks out unobstructed over the river and its wild bank.
Al Moudira’s spa extends this sense of retreat. A traditional marble bath, a hand-painted tiled hammam, a sauna, steam room and treatment rooms make up the wellness area. Therapists trained in Kerala offer personalised massages, among other treatments. Yoga, meditation and breathwork complete the experience.
At Al Moudira, you can simply walk beneath the palm trees and among the olive groves, enjoy the pool, the library, the spa, or practise yoga and fitness.
Around the hotel, the team arranges tailor-made experiences: sunrise at Karnak, sunset felucca sailing, meetings with local artisans, or a hot-air balloon flight.
The historic dahabiya Set Nefru can also be privatised for sailing on the Nile. Classic and vintage vehicles are available to reach archaeological sites or venture into the desert.
