Iles Salomon
The Solomon Islands archipelago is world-renowned for its diving sites, where magnificent coral reefs sit alongside several hundred warship wrecks sunk during the Second World War.
Guadalcanal, the “Slot”, Savo Island — these names recall famous naval and aerial battles that saw hundreds of ships and aircraft destroyed and sunk. Ghavutu Pier, White Beach, Wreck of the Ann and Matimbako are among the most popular sites.
Uepi Island combines tropical rainforest, sandy beaches and coral reef.
But above all, diving in the Solomon Islands means encountering myriad fish of every size, blacktip reef sharks that approach you (they’re not dangerous, as long as you don’t disturb them of course…), and corals of every colour. Don’t miss the morning dive with manta rays.
Macro enthusiasts won’t be left wanting either — the reef teems with small creatures: pygmy seahorses, crabs, shrimp and other crustaceans, pipefish, crocodilefish, cuttlefish. 55 species of nudibranch have been recorded around Uepi.
Memories guaranteed to last!
