From São Luis to Fortaleza, this is over a thousand kilometres of adventure along the equator… Travelling by canoe and private 4×4, set off to discover extraordinary sites: the Lençóis Maranhenses, without doubt one of Brazil’s most spectacular natural sites, remote and charming fishing villages, Atins, a fishing village set between the mouth of the Preguiças river and the ocean, the Parnaíba delta and its rich ecosystem, and Preá Beach, far from the crowds of Jericoacoara.
At each stage, the sense of wonder renews itself. You’ll stay in characterful addresses: a resort at the heart of a vast estate along a river, bungalows set on the beach facing the ocean, an Art Deco boutique hotel, an exclusive and luxurious villa-hotel, a glamping experience, exclusive and authentic posadas.
The Route of Emotions is home to charming hotels offering travellers unique, luxurious experiences.

Depart with your private guide for Barreirinhas, gateway to the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park. Its landscape of dunes and lagoons offers a spectacle unlike anywhere else in the world.
From there, you’ll navigate the Preguiças river, passing fishing villages and lush mangroves, as far as the village of Atins, set at the edge of the dunes. Atins is also known for its excellent kitesurfing spots.

Continuing south, the route leads to the Parnaíba Delta, one of the world’s rare open-sea deltas. This labyrinth of rivers, mangroves, islands and channels is home to impressive biodiversity, with boat excursions offering chances to spot caimans, monkeys, and a variety of birds. Sunset over the delta is a spectacle not to be missed.

The Route of Emotions ends in Jericoacoara, often nicknamed “Jeri”. This isolated fishing village has become a sought-after destination for its fine sandy beaches, clear waters, and remarkable rock formations such as Pedra Furada. Jeri is also famous for its spectacular sunsets, best admired from the Pôr do Sol Dune. Sand streets, the absence of paved roads, and a bohemian atmosphere give Jericoacoara its singular charm.
Nearby, Preá is a charming beach known for its calmer atmosphere compared to touristy Jericoacoara. Among the luxury accommodations in Preá, Casana stands out as one of the finest and most exclusive.
