Suggested duration

8 days / 6 nights

Ideal periods

The spirit of the journey

The Great Migration is an exceptional phenomenon in Tanzania, with millions of zebras and wildebeest crossing the Serengeti. Here is a safari tailored to the season and the migration's presence. A true immersion at the heart of the animal kingdom!
Throughout the year, we offer three safari areas where you can stay for five nights without a single dull moment. Sites where wildlife is present, and in particular the Great Migration.
From January to March, wildebeest and zebras are found between Ndutu and the western Serengeti. February is also calving season for young wildebeest. To ensure maximum visibility, we recommend staying in both of these areas.
After the rains, from late May to July, head to the Grumeti region in the North-West of Serengeti National Park. This is where - along with the Masai Mara - spectacular river crossings can be observed.

After crossing into Kenya's Masai Mara Reserve, wildebeest and zebras gradually return to Tanzania. It is in the North-East Serengeti, on the Kenyan border, that you can observe the migration, mainly in September and October.
The Serengeti: a territory to explore on the scale of your dreams of escape and adventure!

FEBRUARY / MARCH – SOUTHERN SERENGETI / NDUTU REGION
After a night in Arusha, you will spend two nights and two full days of safari in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, exceptional at this time of year.
Unlike a traditional national park, the Ngorongoro protected area does not exclude human presence. This vast zone (over 8,500 km²) is a stretch of Africa as it looked a few hundred years ago. Here, people and wildlife coexist without conflict.
You will then head to the Southern Serengeti, where you will stay for 5 nights.
On the path of the Migration, the camp we propose is ideal for observing cheetahs and wildebeest.
Your safaris will be exclusive, as you will have a private 4×4 and a private English-speaking guide.

Nomad Serengeti Safari Camp

JUNE / EARLY JULY – NORTH-WEST SERENGETI / GRUMETI REGION
Until early July, a large part of the migration slowly moves up toward the North-West of the park, passing through the far West and the Western Corridor (another part moves up through the North-East and the Lobo region).
After a night in Arusha, head to the Western Corridor.

The camp we have selected in Grumeti for your next 5 nights offers a private safari experience in the Serengeti, far from the tourist crowds of the central Serengeti.
Located in the remote western part of Serengeti National Park, on the banks of a tributary of the Grumeti River, &Beyond Grumeti Serengeti River Lodge offers unmatched sightings during the dry season from June to October. From mid-May to July, it is the ideal spot to try to catch sight of the great migration as it moves north.
Each year, wildebeest and zebras cross the waters of the Grumeti River, home to some of Africa’s largest crocodiles.
For the rest of the year, you will find resident wildlife here, including leopards, cheetahs, lions, and more.

andBeyond Grumeti Serengeti River Lodge

SEPTEMBER / OCTOBER – NORTH-EAST SERENGETI / KOGATENDE REGION
After a night in Arusha, departure for the North-East Serengeti, the Kogatende region, for a front-row seat to witness the spectacle of the great migration, from late August to late October.
A 5-night stay in a luxury tented camp, full board. Your safaris will be exclusive, as you will have a private 4×4 and a private English-speaking guide.
This remote region, called Bolongonja, is particularly secluded, and camps here are very rare, allowing for an exclusivity and sense of isolation unmatched elsewhere.
Its proximity to the Mara River allows you to witness the famous “river crossings” of wildebeest and zebra herds as they cross the river.

Serian Serengeti Lamai
