After a personalised welcome at Johannesburg airport, you will take a flight to Kruger Park.
A family-owned property for four generations dating back to the early 20th century, Lion Sands has two luxury lodges along the banks of the Sabie River, within the Sabi Sand reserve.
Lion Sands River Lodge is the larger and more relaxed of the two lodges. It offers 18 suites, linked by wooden walkways that follow the course of the river.

MARAKELE NATIONAL PARK
Final morning safari at Sabi Sand, then a direct flight to Marakele, in the far north of the Waterberg.
Marataba is set within one of South Africa’s most striking landscapes, with dramatic mountains in the backdrop that give your stay an entirely different dimension. The lodge stands within Marakele National Park, in the 23,000-hectare private concession where it is, at present, the only lodge operating.

Each suite has its own private terrace with a sweeping view: a river in the foreground, a waterhole that draws in the animals, and, further off, imposing mountains you will never tire of admiring. Meals are taken in the dining room, on the grass, on the terrace, out on the savannah — depending on the weather, the season, the mood.
