The spirit of the journey

Northeast India, often overlooked by tourists, may seem discreet but in fact conceals a geographical and cultural richness that is more than captivating. Between untouched natural spaces and the kindness of its people, you will be amazed.

Northeast India offers a remarkable cultural blend, given the mosaic of ethnic groups found here.

Far from everyday life, this journey is simply disorienting, in the best sense.

We suggest starting in the city of Calcutta for its vibrant, exciting atmosphere — take the opportunity to sample some local specialities.

Then, on to new horizons.

You may even be fortunate enough to spot one of the region's last white tigers, or other species such as the greater one-horned rhinoceros.

CALCUTTA
India’s cultural capital, with charms all its own!
The most striking spectacle is at dusk, when the faithful come to purify themselves in the Ganges.

Let yourself be drawn in by the different scents of the flower market, among the lotus, hibiscus and jasmine. Calcutta is a city where the artistic community is thriving, with numerous festivals held throughout the year.

TIGERS AND GREATER ONE-HORNED RHINOCEROS IN KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK
Located on the edge of the Himalayas, Kaziranga National Park is one of the last areas of Northeast India untouched by development. Here you will encounter an unusual and unique species, the greater one-horned (Indian) rhinoceros.

Striking landscapes of savannah and forest await, where you can observe Asian elephants, water buffalo, and more than 350 bird species.

Parc national de Kaziranga

This Unesco World Heritage-listed park in Kaziranga is renowned for having the highest density of greater one-horned rhinoceros in the world (75% of the global population) — and the striking savannah and swamp forest landscapes add to the setting's beauty. It is also home to numerous other species, including water buffalo, Asian elephant, Bengal tiger, swamp deer and a wide range of bird species.
