Ponant Commandant Charcot Cruise
Croisières et Yachting Antarctique
14 days / 12 nights aboard
November
Departure from Ushuaia towards the South Shetland Islands. These volcanic islands offer an otherworldly, mysterious landscape. They host major scientific bases and a large number of animal species: chinstrap penguins, crabeater seals, Weddell seals, Antarctic terns, giant petrels and elephant seals have made this their home.
Throughout your stage north of the Antarctic Peninsula, you will move through a spectacular landscape of subtle blue and white tones, surrounded by exceptional wildlife. You will sail through the Antarctic Sound, gateway to the Weddell Sea. Among the gigantic tabular icebergs and drifting ice floes heading north, Adélie penguins and numerous leopard seals thrive, alongside fur seals, penguin colonies, wandering albatrosses and other giant petrels. Lord of this realm, the Weddell seal welcomes you to its territory. You will approach the massive Larsen ice shelves.
