OKONJIMA NATURE RESERVE
After a first night in Windhoek, you will drive your rental vehicle to Okonjima Nature Reserve (this itinerary can also be arranged with an English- or French-speaking driver-guide).
This is the home of AfriCat, a non-profit organisation working to protect endangered predators in their natural habitat: cheetahs, leopards and several other carnivores.
You will have the privilege of observing the animals and learning more about the programmes supporting these big cats, as striking and beautiful as they are, yet so closely related to our domestic felines.
You will have the opportunity to take part in leopard radio tracking, as the animals are monitored throughout the year.
Overnight at a charming 4* lodge within the reserve.

DAMARALAND – Twyfelfontein region
Departure for the Damaraland region, with its dramatic and captivating landscapes.
Along the way, you may stop at the petrified forest, a national monument since 1950. The site contains huge fossilised tree trunks, over 250 million years old.
Discover this magnificent, wild and surprising region, where the land is cast in shades of pink, mauve and ochre.
You will spend 2 nights at an outstanding eco-lodge, nestled among the rocks with sweeping views over the Aba Huab valley. An intimate setting, a captivating atmosphere.
On a morning 4×4 safari, you may be lucky enough to spot the rare desert-adapted elephants.
In the afternoon, you can explore the famous rock engravings of Twyfelfontein, the basalt columns known as the Organ Pipes, and the Burnt Mountain.

SWAKOPMUND
Departure towards Uis, a small mining town from which the Brandberg, Namibia’s highest peak, can be seen.
Continue on to Swakopmund, with the option of a detour via Cape Cross, home to one of the largest seal colonies in Africa.
You will spend two nights in this seaside town on the edge of the desert, with the option of several activities: a boat trip on the lagoon to see dolphins and seals, an excursion to Moon Valley, a scenic flight over the Namib Desert and the Skeleton Coast…
Two-night stay at a lovely hotel on the waterfront promenade with ocean views, close to seafood restaurants.
A very pleasant hotel, offering a welcome pause between Damaraland and the Namib Desert.

NAMIB DESERT
Early morning departure towards Kuiseb Canyon to reach the Namib Desert.
Your lodge will host you for two nights in a peaceful natural setting, where nothing around you will keep you from unwinding.
The thatched-roof huts, reminiscent of those once built by the San people, are perfectly placed and blend seamlessly into the desert’s striking landscape.
At dawn, you will head into the park to admire the morning light on the dunes of Sossusvlei, a breathtaking sea of giant dunes, among the highest in the world.
Climbing one of the Sossusvlei dunes gives you a panoramic view of this spectacular site, where the dunes stretch as far as the eye can see. Herds of oryx, springbok and ostrich can sometimes be spotted here.
Don’t miss the Deadvlei site either, a white clay pan offering a landscape unlike anywhere else in the world, with its centuries-old acacia trees, dead and bleached by the scorching sun.
Optional: hot-air balloon flight over the Namib Desert.

The Okavango is a unique ecosystem, an inland delta at the heart of the largest continuous stretch of sand in the world: the Kalahari Basin.
A mosaic of grasslands, woodlands and lagoons providing a habitat as rich as it is diverse for the multitude of animals and birds that thrive there.
To conclude this journey, a light aircraft flight from Kasane will take you into the heart of the delta, for a three-night full-board stay at a charming lodge.
On the programme: 4×4, walking, boat and mokoro safaris through the winding channels of the lagoon.
Return to Maun by light aircraft and flight home.
