African great apes can notably be observed in Uganda, Rwanda or Tanzania for mountain gorillas and chimpanzees, and in Congo-Brazzaville for western lowland gorillas. Orangutans are increasingly rare, and only the regions of Borneo and Sumatra still allow observations that are as memorable as they are respectful of animals facing severe risk of extinction.
Here are a few suggestions for tailor-made journeys to observe great apes across these different countries. Feel free to contact our specialists for more information and to design your own.
