June to October
Located in the Kilwa region, in the Indian Ocean off the east coast of Tanzania, this fabulous private island, so natural and unspoilt, is a true delight for nature lovers. A genuine tropical island adventure!
Here, you will learn to live without shoes. Sun, crystal-clear water, fish, birds, and an entire island to yourselves — what else do we need in life?
Thousands of migratory birds resting and feeding, green turtles laying their eggs, hundreds of dolphins travelling through these waters, and humpback whales passing through on their migration have given the local community an alternative to the consumptive use of resources.
You will fly to Songo Songo island, where you can explore the community life of local fishermen, then take a short boat ride to the private island of Fanjove, accompanied by dolphins if you are lucky.
Fully renovated recently, the lodge now has ten single-storey beach villas of 132 m², built exclusively from local, natural materials (+ 100% solar energy).
The villas are spread along the main beach to ensure privacy, each with an ocean view.
It is also possible to privatise the entire island.

…after a safari in Selous and Ruaha
Scheduled flights allow you to reach Songo Songo fairly quickly from the Selous Reserve, in southern Tanzania.
In keeping with the lodges and tented camps we offer in the region, Fanjove Private Island then becomes the ideal place to end a remarkable journey.
