WALKING SAFARIS IN LAIKIPIA
A short flight takes you to the foot of Mount Kenya and on to the spectacular Laikipia region.
Your journey begins with a walking expedition, led by experienced rangers and accompanied by unhurried camels! An unexpected 3-night interlude, a step back into the time of the unknown and early exploration.
A walking safari offers an unmatched connection with nature. Your own steps carry you along paths no vehicle can reach, for a more intimate discovery of the wild expanses you cross.
Here, a jagged escarpment; further on, a granite kopje, both witnesses to the Great Rift Valley’s turbulent geological past… There, arrowheads, pottery shards and archaeological artefacts mark a cultural history thousands of years old.
And all around, wildlife: elephants, big cats, reticulated giraffes and plains antelopes thrive alongside threatened species such as the Grevy’s zebra and Jackson’s hartebeest. Follow the trained eye of your English-speaking guides and the expertise of your tracker!
In the evening, under the starlit sky, by the campfire or in the comfort of your tent, listen closely: the entire savannah comes alive with a thousand sounds, unlike anywhere else.

SEGERA CONCESSION
At the end of your camel trek, head to one of the finest properties in the region: Segera.
A luxurious address full of promise for a 3-night stay in one of the striking villas built on the concession.
For safaris, you’ll travel in sturdy open 4×4 vehicles, skilfully driven by day and by night by the lodge’s experienced rangers.
Great predators or savannah giants? Rare species or peaceful herds of herbivores? Shy leopards and cheetahs share this territory with buffalo and powerful elephants, while African wild dogs move in discreet packs, as wild as they are endangered. All around you, the landscape unfolds in varied forms — endless plains, forested areas and riverbanks.
For further moments to remember, other gems await, such as a night under the Milky Way in the Nay Palad Bird Nest, or a flight aboard the “GAAMY”, the famous original biplane from the film “Out of Africa”.
