A cruise will take you to the idyllic Whitsunday Islands, covered in lush jungle.

You will stop off in Gladstone, Mackay, Rockhampton and Cairns, among the many gateways for admiring the Great Barrier Reef, another UNESCO World Heritage Site.

BRISBANE
Arrival in Brisbane and pick-up of your rental car at the airport.
Rest of the day free.
Brisbane, tropical capital of Queensland and a city with a proven track record in culture.
Don’t be fooled by the quiet appearance of the wide Brisbane River, lined with mangroves, as it winds lazily through the city centre. This picturesque, serene waterway sets the stage for a whole range of exciting outdoor adventures and cultural activities.

FRASER ISLAND
You will leave your car in the car park and take the ferry to Fraser Island, where you will spend 2 nights.
During your stay, you will set off for the day with your English-speaking guide (shared group) on a 4×4 excursion around the island… barely will you have started along the sandy “road” of Seventy-Five Mile Beach before realising that the island is strictly reserved for 4×4 vehicles. Head out along one of the hundreds of sand tracks connecting the lakes, primary rainforest and other natural attractions. Go as far as the impressive sand dunes formed inland by the wind and the tall, multicoloured sand cliffs of The Cathedrals.
Fraser Island is the largest sand island in the world: 123km long and 15km wide.

The sheer quantity of sand has given rise to a number of vivid comparisons, such as: “the island contains more sand than the Sahara Desert”, or “there is enough sand here to cover the entire city of Sydney”…
This unique site has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992.

WHITSUNDAY ISLANDS
Today, drive to Airlie Beach, gateway to the magnificent Whitsunday Islands, an archipelago of 74 islands and islets, often considered one of the most beautiful regions in Australia.
Since only eight of them are inhabited, you will likely have the chance to find a beach all to yourself, where you will be the only one leaving footprints.

CAIRNS AND THE GREAT BARRIER REEF
Continue on to Cairns for a 3-night stay at a lovely lodge set deep in nature.
Departure for a catamaran cruise to the Great Barrier Reef, which stretches nearly 2,000km along the eastern coast of Queensland. A day devoted to swimming and exploring the underwater world of this magnificent, protected natural site.
This is one of the greatest natural wonders of the world, an explosion of colour. Teeming with the most astonishing marine life and coral reefs, this wonder of the marine world is a fascinating tangle of reefs and islands.
