MASAI MARA
Between dramatic escarpments, sweeping savannah and winding rivers, the Masai Mara ranks among Kenya’s most exceptional national reserves. Few territories can claim such a concentration of wildlife, both diverse and abundant.
For the traveller, whether novice or seasoned, it becomes essential to move away from the crowds, the convoys of vehicles and the noise that comes with them.
A charming address tucked into a bend of the Talek River, Emboo River Camp embodies the concept of eco-luxury.
You will spend 5 nights at this forward-thinking establishment.
To venture into the wild expanses of the Masai Mara, Emboo River Camp has chosen to equip itself with three fully electric vehicles, the region’s first fleet of solar-powered 4x4s. A choice that opens up new possibilities: silent movement, no vibrations, no exhaust fumes or fuel odours. A genuine pleasure.
If you feel like exploring on foot, you can take a guided walk through the bush to observe birds, learn to identify medicinal plants and local flora, or discover the termite mounds, burrows and tracks that mark the landscape.
Finally, joining the eco tour will introduce you to the innovations implemented by Emboo River Camp. Reaching the beauty of the Maasai Mara requires a light aircraft flight. To offset the carbon dioxide emissions generated by this mode of transport, Emboo River has launched a reforestation project in which every guest can take part if they wish, to compensate for the impact of their journey. The indigenous tree species have been carefully selected.
Depending on your interest, you can be shown the technologies at work in the camp, such as the use of plants from the nearby lagoon to naturally filter wastewater, or the 140m2 solar array that powers the camp. A wide-ranging programme of innovative technologies, reflecting a genuine commitment on the ground.
