ILHA DE MOÇAMBIQUE
After a direct flight from Johannesburg to Nampula, you will reach a small gem untouched by human bustle, a superb mosaic of Arab, Portuguese and Indian civilisations.

Listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site, bordering the Indian Ocean and 4 km from the African coast, the coral island stretches 3 km from north-east to south-east.

A guided tour of the island is a must, but you can also simply wander, feeling this Africa of old as you roam by mountain bike or on foot, wherever the wind takes you.
You will stay 2 nights in a charming boutique hotel.

Île de Mozambique

Despite its modest size — barely 3,000 metres long and only a few hundred metres wide — Ilha de Moçambique, a small crescent-shaped island, is a true hidden gem, rich in fascinating history and vibrant culture. Located in the northern province of Nampula, this unique island is connected to the mainland by a narrow 3-kilometre bridge, itself a symbol of the link between past and present.
Ilha de Moçambique was once a major trading and cultural crossroads between Africa, Arabia, India and Europe, giving it an exceptional architectural heritage that blends Arab, Portuguese and African influences. In recognition of its historical and cultural value, it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991, drawing visitors each year keen to immerse themselves in its authentic atmosphere and rich past.

Coral Lodge

Coral Lodge is a 15-minute boat ride from the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ilha de Moçambique (Mozambique Island). Surrounded by several hectares of private nature reserve, the setting is outstanding. We particularly value the lodge's commitment to the local community, long isolated and desperately poor. Coral Lodge does its utmost to support local people. Your stay includes diving, picnics, kayaking, snorkelling, and simply relaxing.
The 10 villas combine luxury and comfort in an authentic Mozambican style. The mix of natural wood with local textiles and the colours of the décor blend seamlessly with the surroundings. Each villa is raised above the sand dunes, offering sweeping views over clear waters and idyllic beaches.
