The spirit of the journey

National Geographic Traveler named this polar adventure one of the 50 trips of a lifetime. On this journey, you will visit three legendary Arctic regions in a single trip.
Your expedition begins in Spitsbergen, continues along the remote coasts of eastern Greenland, and ends in Iceland. Towering cliffs, wildlife, immense glaciers and stretches of untouched tundra await. The Arctic has inspired explorers for centuries. This journey offers the chance to understand their fascination with this part of the world.

Along the coasts of Spitsbergen, Greenland and Iceland, you will encounter numerous animal species and wildlife without equal, between fjords and tundra.

Your cruise begins aboard the Ocean Adventurer at Spitsbergen, the largest island of the Svalbard archipelago. It rewards visitors with abundant wildlife and austere beauty. Here, you will visit glacier fronts and spectacular fjords with steep walls where walruses, polar bears and Svalbard reindeer may be part of the journey. Amateur birdwatchers will be delighted to see Arctic terns, long-tailed ducks, kittiwakes and gulls.

You will then head towards the east coast of Greenland, a highly indented coastline with numerous fjords, shaped by spectacular mountains, high cliffs and countless glaciers. The large glaciers produce icebergs that are abundant in Greenlandic waters. Greenland and its surrounding waters shelter an impressive number of wild species, especially marine mammals such as whales, narwhals and belugas. Sperm whales and pilot whales are also occasionally spotted.
There are around 52 bird species on the island.

The polar bear is rarely observed on the west coast but is regularly seen on the north and northeast coasts. Few people know that southern Greenland lies at exactly the right latitude to see the northern lights. The long periods of darkness in September offer an ideal opportunity to admire this incredible phenomenon.

Disembarkation in Iceland, in Reykjavík, the capital of Iceland, where the cruise ends.
If you have booked accommodation after the expedition, we provide a transfer to the city centre.

It is of course possible to extend your journey on land, by organising an individual tailor-made trip. Get in touch with us!
