Hokkaido and Nagano in Winter

Example of a tailor-made journey, fully customisable

Country

Japon

Suggested duration

13 days / 11 nights

The spirit of the journey

A winter setting that any lover of cold regions dreams of, Hokkaido is without doubt one of the finest destinations to visit in February, to observe cranes, whooper swans, white-tailed eagles and Steller's sea eagles in an often ghostly atmosphere.

You will then discover the legendary macaques of Nagano, where ice and the steam of hot springs create a surreal setting before your eyes.

A journey idea to Hokkaido for those drawn to a spare, graphic, elegant nature.
A nature reminiscent of Japan's great painters.

NAGANO
Silence, the Japanese macaques are bathing!
In winter, Japanese macaques love to soak in the thermal waters of the “hell valley”, so named for the steam rising from the baths.
Set in the middle of a snow-covered forest, Jigokudani Park bears no resemblance to the sunlit hills of Tuscany, yet nature here is just as much a source of well-being. The natural park is specifically dedicated to the welfare of these primates.

HOKKAIDO
Over 7 days you will travel across the island of Hokkaido, through regions of exceptional natural grandeur.
Vast expanses, mountain ranges, remarkable lakes. At every stage you will discover landscapes that rival one another in splendour.
Covered in forest across nearly three-quarters of its territory, it is highly valued for its outstanding natural parks.
