And it is in Cuzco that your journey continues. The sacred Inca valley will be the opportunity to discover remarkable architecture, visiting numerous sites and villages amid breathtaking landscapes!

You will experience an exceptional day of trekking at the Huchuy Qosqo site, nestled at 3,656 m altitude, built of stone and adobe, in a place still very rarely visited.

Casa Andina Premium Arequipa

From Arequipa, drive through the Pampa Canahuas reserve with its sublime landscape, from the valley of volcanoes to the deepest canyon in the Americas.
You will be able to observe numerous wild camelids there. Multiple stops along the way lead to a magnificent panorama of the Ambato, Misti and Hualca Hualca volcanoes.
Visit of villages and encounter with the Aymara communities.

On the second day, you will set off on an excursion to the Cruz del Condor to observe the majestic flight of the Andean condor.

From the Colca canyon, 4×4 drive to Puno, crossing the dazzling landscape of the Altiplano between Chivay and Puno.
Before reaching Puno, visit the pre-Inca archaeological site of Sillustani above the Umayo lagoon.
Arrival in Puno, at 3,800 m altitude, gateway to Lake Titicaca.
Fast boat trip on Lake Titicaca from Puno.
Discovery of the floating islands of Uros, and of the way of life of the communities on Taquile Island and Amantani Island.

Puno et le Lac Titicaca

Puno is your starting point for discovering Lake Titicaca, the world's highest navigable lake, where the light is exceptional and the colours have an almost unreal purity. Titicaca is a remarkable inland sea dotted with islands inhabited by local communities: the floating islands of the Uros community, built entirely of reeds; Taquile Island, the largest island on Lake Titicaca, whose community is self-governed; and Isla Suasi, the lake's only privately owned island, belonging to Peruvian sociologist Martha Giraldo, who turned it into an ecological refuge and created a museum dedicated to Andean wildlife, flora and culture.
Puno is also a pleasant stopover, set at the foot of the Altiplano mountains, with its charming cathedral, Plaza de Armas, colourful market and lively local festivals.
Here's an idea: board the Andean Explorer, Belmond's luxury Peruvian train, bound for Cuzco.

From Puno, scheduled bus journey to Cuzco, at 3,600 m altitude: “the Inca navel”.
Cuzco has the charm of Indian cities, somewhat spellbinding and yet luminous. Walking along its Inca walls, you will be struck by its remarkable beauty, a blend of colonial, baroque and Inca influences.

HUCHUY QOSQO TREK
Starting point for the trek to Huchuy Qosqo (3,656 m altitude), an Inca construction of adobe and stone.
A magnificent archaeological site set within a spectacular canyon, rarely visited by tourists. 7 hours of moderate walking, with views in the distance of the snow-capped peaks of Pitusiray and Sawasiray.
Crossing of a pass at 4,100 m to reach the ruins of Pucamarca.

Departure for an intense day in the more rural valley high in the Andean mountains.
First stop at the village of Chinchero, typical and set in the high mountains.
Then visit the Maras salt pans, where millennia-old Inca methods are still used for salt extraction.
And then Moray, another agricultural marvel using the still remarkably effective Inca techniques harnessing solar energy…
Not forgetting Ollantaytambo, a former fortress.
Picnic lunch in the sacred valley.

La Vallée Sacrée

The Sacred Valley sounds like a legend; it stretches along the Rio Urubamba, hemmed in by the steep Andes and home to the mysterious ruins of Machu Picchu. This densely populated valley is intensively farmed through irrigation, as rainfall here is moderate, as it is throughout the high Andean mountains. The Camino del Inca traces a path along the mountainsides, between remnants of the Inca empire and indigenous communities. On foot, on horseback, or by train in the class of your choice, attentive and curious, you make your way through the heart of these vast landscapes—refuge of an enduring civilisation, welcoming and rich in a folk art without equal.

You will reach the Machu Picchu site by train, following the Urubamba river from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes.
The highlight: you will have 2 days to explore the sacred site of Machu Picchu at your own pace.

Machu Picchu

Its name resonates: Machu Picchu, an alluring sacred city regarded by some as one of the seven new wonders of the world, stands as the most majestic testament to Inca civilization. First glimpsed from the Inca Trail, the complex sits on a granite ridge overlooking the Sacred Valley, itself at the foot of the mountain of the same name (Machu Picchu meaning “old mountain” in Quechua). This extraordinary site, composed of impressive stone structures such as the Intihuatana solar clock and the Temple of the Three Windows, was built in perfect harmony with its natural surroundings.

Return to Cuzco by train from Aguas Calientes to Cuzco.
