BLYDE RIVER CANYON
On arrival in Johannesburg, drive to the Mpumalanga region to discover the Blyde River Canyon, a deep green canyon, the 3rd deepest in the world. Viewpoints at God & Devil Windows and a walk through the old Pilgrim’s Rest gold mine.
The following day, a wide choice of activities awaits.
Depending on your preferences, you can explore the various viewpoints along the Panorama Route, hike the Drakensberg massif and discover the canyon’s pretty waterfalls, or opt for more thrills: ziplining, paragliding, rafting and more.
Two-night stay in a small, charming lodge.

KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
The long-awaited safari begins.
Two days are planned in the famous Kruger Park.
Set off to track your first animals from your own vehicle.
Even without being experienced rangers, you’ll be surprised by the number of animals visible from the park’s tracks.
You’ll spend 2 nights inside the park in the typical “Rest Camps”.
For dinner, an on-site restaurant is available, unless you’d rather prepare a barbecue at your bungalow for a very South African experience! (everything you need can be bought at the camp’s small shop).

PRIVATE KRUGER RESERVE
After this self-drive exploration of Kruger Park, you’ll head to a beautiful private reserve for 3 nights.
Your safaris, two per day, will now be led by an experienced English-speaking team of rangers and trackers, aboard a fully open 4×4 vehicle for optimal wildlife viewing.
And much closer encounters! It’s not unusual for a lion to pass right by your 4×4!
While some lodges accommodate this experience from age 4 with adjustments (shorter duration, areas free of predators, defined time slots), children are most often admitted on safari from age 6. It is sometimes mandatory to book a private vehicle for the family.
Activities such as walking safaris remain reserved for those over 12, or even 16 depending on the area.
Between the morning and afternoon 4×4 safaris, fantastic activities can be offered to children, led by rangers, trackers, nannies or chefs.
The common thread? Introducing Africa in an exciting and playful way, immersing them in local culture: identifying animal tracks, making traditional bows and arrows, culinary experiences with the chef, beadwork jewellery-making workshops, lighting a campfire…
An adventurer’s kit is sometimes even provided, complete with a cap and a backpack filled with educational worksheets, coloured pencils, and wildlife picture books.
And should the urge strike to change scenery, a short flight is all it takes to get closer to marine megafauna! Southern right whales, African penguins and Cape fur seals will awaken new dreams of adventure in you…
