The spirit of the journey

We take you to the Churchill region of Canada, renowned for polar bear observation. Unfortunately, this area is often too crowded during the strategic months of November and March.

That is why, for this journey, we have selected the exclusive location of a lodge set on the shores of Hudson Bay. While staying less than 30 minutes by air from Churchill, so that you can still access the places where wildlife encounters happen.

During your stay, the team will do everything possible to maximise your chances of observing and photographing polar bears. Your expert guides will keep watch for them, day and night, as they move around the lodge.

Churchill et la baie d'Hudson

Setting out in search of the polar bear without passing through Churchill, a small town of fewer than 1,000 residents on the western shore of Hudson Bay, would almost be a crime. Indeed, in the “polar bear capital of the world”, the white predator wanders calmly through the town's streets as you might at home; it's on its own territory.
Once you've adjusted to the climate (averaging 12°C in summer and -25°C in winter), you can set off in search of Nanuq, the Inuit spirit of the polar bear, king of the tundra. Along Manitoba's 1,400 km of coastline, wolves, caribou and moose will make up most of your encounters in the boreal forest, while beluga whales and the Northern Lights will keep you company over Hudson Bay.
Churchill is the gateway to a world where, at the heart of a territory that remains difficult for humans to tame, you'll witness an environment and wildlife that will stay etched in your memory.

Days 3, 4 and 5 – Churchill
Days devoted to observing and photographing polar bears and the Arctic’s wildlife.
Over these three days, you will have ample opportunity to observe polar bears passing close to the lodge, which is protected by an electric fence.
Meals will be organised around observation opportunities, with priority given to photographing polar bears.
If you wish, you may be woken during the night by the lodge’s lookout to observe a passing bear or the northern lights…

Day 6 – Churchill – Winnipeg
Early morning at the lodge for your last photographs.
Late morning, you will fly back to Churchill.
Return flight to Winnipeg, where you will spend the night at an airport hotel.
Dinner at your own expense and overnight at the hotel.
1-night stay in Winnipeg, with breakfast.

Winnipeg

Day 7 – Winnipeg – Montreal
Early in the day, flight to Montreal. Then flight to Paris in the late afternoon.
Dinner and overnight on board.

Day 8 – Paris
Arrival in Paris.
