This final morning takes you to one of the river's most mystical sites: the Pak Ou caves, natural sanctuaries holding thousands of Buddha statues offered by pilgrims over the centuries.
Then, a stop at Ban Xang Hai, a craft village known for its production of Lao-Lao, the iconic Lao rice whisky, carefully distilled in large terracotta jars. You will have the chance to observe, and perhaps taste, this sacred drink, used during festivals and spiritual rituals.
A last lunch on board, and Gypsy arrives at gentle Luang Prabang. You leave the Mekong, but it will never quite leave you.
