Luang Prabang
Organised around lush inner courtyards, the Amantaka follows a U-shaped layout centred on a pool bordered by low pavilions with double-pitched roofs. The French colonial architecture — colonnades, tall louvred windows, coffered ceilings — is enhanced by an extremely delicate restoration.
A reading lounge bathed in natural light, a library with walls lined with ancient tales, a lotus pond, a medicinal herb garden. Everything has been designed so that visitors move quietly, between indoors and outdoors, in a subtly orchestrated atmosphere of serenity.
The 24 suites share a common aesthetic vocabulary: generous volumes, clean lines, natural materials, and the soft light characteristic of Luang Prabang. All are set within historic buildings, restored with the utmost care.
Suite (70 m²)
Clean-lined, light-filled and perfectly proportioned, these suites open onto a private patio or a shaded interior garden, with or without a private pool.
Inside: a king-size bed draped in white linen, a sitting area with a daybed and desk, and a spacious bathroom with a deep bathtub, walk-in rain shower and Aman amenities. Ceilings are high, floors in polished teak, and the shutters let in filtered light, always calming.
Khan Pool Suite (92 m²)
These suites have direct access to an enclosed garden and feature a private pool surrounded by white walls and tropical vegetation, for absolute privacy.
The interior layout remains true to the Aman style: dark wood furniture, a mineral palette, hand-woven textiles, and locally made craft pieces.
Mekong Pool Suite (102 m²)
Also featuring a private pool, these suites offer a heightened sense of space thanks to their enfilade openings and high ceilings. An ideal choice for travellers attuned to the horizon, the air, and the gentle movement of light and breeze.
Amantaka Pool Suite (116 m²)
True private residences at the heart of the grounds, the Amantaka Pool Suites are the largest and most exclusive.
They offer an enclosed garden with a large private pool, a separate sitting room, a spacious dressing room and a majestic bathroom. These suites embody the residential elegance that defines Aman, combining seclusion, absolute comfort and controlled simplicity.
The Amantaka spa is a sanctuary within the sanctuary. Tucked away in a separate pavilion, it offers four treatment rooms, a hammam, a sauna, a cold and hot water pool, and a yoga room. Drawing on Laotian traditions and Asian rituals, the menu features warm herbal massages, botanical wraps, holistic treatments and guided meditation.
An embodiment of the Aman spirit, the service is attentive. Each guest is accompanied without ever being disturbed: everything seems anticipated, never imposed.
Tailor-made cultural tours with French-speaking guides, morning alms-giving to Buddhist monks, sunset cruises on the Mekong, or calligraphy and traditional weaving workshops: each experience is designed to extend the philosophy of the place.
