À vivre

Scattered along the southern coast of Mozambique, the Bazaruto Archipelago is made up of five main islands: Bazaruto, Benguerra, Magaruque, Bangue, and the small Santa Carolina, once nicknamed “Paradise Island”. Designated a national park in 2000, this well-preserved archipelago is a jewel of biodiversity, combining coastal forests, savannah, salt marshes and spectacular coral reefs. It is rightly known as the pearl of the Indian Ocean.
Bazaruto, the largest of the islands, stretches about 35 kilometres long and 7 kilometres wide. Located nearly 600 kilometres north of Maputo, it reveals a subtropical ecosystem of rare richness. Colourful coral reefs, crystal-clear waters, countless tropical fish, wild beaches and golden dunes make up a strikingly beautiful natural scene. At low tide, sandbanks emerge, inviting exploration. The island can also be explored by 4x4 or through the thrill of dune surfing.
Benguerra, meanwhile, feels suspended in time. Authentic and untouched, it holds a handful of exclusive lodges tucked into a paradisiacal setting. With its exceptional dive sites and preserved atmosphere, it embodies discreet luxury in its purest form.
