With more than 2,000 sites, the Matobo Hills hold one of the largest concentrations of rock art in southern Africa. Created by the Matabele people more than 13,000 years ago, these paintings depict the life of hunter-gatherers who occupied the site for at least 500,000 years.

Some are remarkably fine, notably in the caves of Nswatugi, Bambata, Inanke and Silozwane.
Through this rock art, your guide will explain the artistic styles and beliefs tied to this now-vanished cultural tradition.
