A bold design, a spectacular natural setting, contemporary décor, a commitment to responsible tourism and reforestation, innovative architecture with traditional spherical woven-thatch roofs — these are just some of the highlights of this remarkable lodge, Bisate.
Located in a region offering spectacular views of the Bisoke, Karisimbi and Mikeno volcano peaks, its striking architecture evokes the traditional papyrus-and-thatch huts still on display at the King's Palace Museum in Nyanza, former capital of the Tutsi kings.
Bisate Lodge encourages every guest to take part in biodiversity conservation efforts, to meet the local community, and above all to make a strong positive impact on a critically endangered, iconic species: the mountain gorilla.

Layout

Six sumptuous en-suite rooms maximise comfort, warmth and views while upholding environmental principles and reflecting Rwanda's rural and natural culture.
The décor of the suites, each fitted with a striking central volcanic-rock fireplace, draws inspiration from the geometric patterns of imigongo art. A subtle blend of materials pairing tradition (bamboo, papyrus) with modernity (glass, metal).
The lodge also includes a restaurant, a bar and a lounge, offering a space to relax at any point during your stay.

The traditional shapes of the six suites are a nod to Rwandan culture, while the sumptuous interiors maximise comfort and warmth while making the most of the panoramic views.
