Camellia Hills is your holiday home in Sri Lanka's emerald hills. The butlers are on hand to pamper guests, and meals are relaxed, personalised and enjoyable. The views take centre stage too: sip pre-dinner drinks by the crackling fireplace in the high-ceilinged, welcoming lounge while taking in distant valley views, or enjoy delicious contemporary dishes from a curated Sri Lankan and international menu on the airy terrace overlooking the lake.
Take in these panoramas while relaxing on comfortable sofas warmed by an open fire, dining outdoors, or swimming a few lengths in the refreshing garden pool.
Camellia Hills has only five individual rooms with wooden flooring. Each looks out, through picture windows, onto Castlereagh reservoir or the lush surrounding hills. The rooms differ in design and layout, but are all equally comfortable and luxurious. The most comfortable are the two Lakeview suites, while the two Lakeview rooms offer sweeping views over the entire Castlereagh valley from private, furnished garden terraces. The Camellia room, with two twin beds, overlooks the mountains and tea valleys of Dickoya and is ideal for children or friends.
Our Castlereagh and Hatton experiences explore the many facets of this culturally rich region, shaped by Sri Lanka's historic tea industry. The bungalow sits amid hectares of green tea bushes, and a walk through them, along the valley, to a colonial-era tea factory where you can observe the centuries-old art of tea production, is included in your stay.
The cool mountain climate makes venturing outdoors effortless. Trails crossing the neighbouring tea plantations, dense forest areas and cascading waterfalls promise striking views at every turn. The reservoir islands offer further picnic opportunities, and you can tour the islands by boat, or travel along the reservoir's shores to the colonial-era Warleigh Church.
